Ahhh, Mondaiji just keeps on entertaining me. After Izayoi defeats the water god, Kurousagi (black rabbit) receives a prize for winning the game. Asuka and You are in the city talking to Galdo, who offers them to join their community, rather than joining the no name community. Kurousagi explains the past of her community and how they became a no name, and what the state of their community is now. Asuka gets suspicious of Galdo and mind controls him to tell the truth; that his community became the strongest by stealing children and forcing the other members to join or die, where Galdo himself slaughters all the children regardless. Asuka lets go of Galdo, where he transforms into a large tiger-thing and attacks the two when You- the character- overtakes Galdo. Asuka then challenges Galdo to a gift game with the communities on the line, and lets Galdo go.

Kurousagi and Izayoi return to find out that they challenged Galdo to a gift game. Distraught, Kurousagi brings the three to a shop to appraise the gift, where they meet Shiroyasha who runs the shop, who is a demon lord and the floor master. Izayoi, Asuka and You challenge the lord to a game. They are then transferred to tundra region with a large mountain, where Shiroyasha summons a Griffon. You takes up the challenge and talks to the Griffon about the challenge, putting her life on the line. She rides on the Griffon as it flies at super sonic speed, where a flashback occurs to when she was sick and received her powers/gift from her father. You completes the challenge but falls off of the Griffon at a great height but recovers herself has she steps on air. Izayoi realizes her power, the ability to copy other animals’ powers for herself. Shiroyasha is impressed and gives the three a gift card, where Izayoi’s says unknown. The group then visits a location that was devastated by a demon lord showcasing the lord’s powers, while in the meantime Galdo is seen sucked on by a vampire, where she states that she has given Galdo a new power.

Wow, this episode is just as entertaining as the first. Izayoi has the traditional Shonen protagonist attitude of wanting to fight, but he is actually more intelligent than the traditional hero. This episode also show cases You and Asuka’s abilities, with You’s ability to copy other animal’s abilities; the strength of Galdo and stepping in air of the Griffon, and Asuka’s ability to basically mind control people to her bidding. We also know the history of the community and why Kurousagi summoned them and her dire state. We also know that a dominating community will be a threat and that there are stronger deities than gods; Demon lords and floor masters. It is also seen that they are currently in the outermost part of the city, which is also the weakest. So we finally have most of the premise explained and there was some threat to the gift game, something that was missing from the first episode.

We also have a glimpse of You’s history and how she obtained her gift. It wasn’t really tragic and it seems that her gift is a pendent given to her by her father. So would this mean that he was also transferred to this world? This also hints that other characters could have a similar history for obtaining their gifts, which in itself is a weird concept. This episode is also the first sighting of the series’ ending, since the ending for last episode was actually the opening- mind blown right? The ending is absolutely amazing! Izayoi, Kurousagi, You and Asuka are all in chibi forms dancing to the cutesy song. It is adorable and entertaining especially when everyone freestyles at the end. While the song itself is the best, the animation is second to one with its adorableness, though the dancing houses in the back are rather odd.

Mondaiji continues to be entertaining and awesome. With the addition of possibly the best ending this season, seeing Izayoi all cocky just gives me some tingly feeling. That and You- the character- is incredible in every way.
