Deep Silver has just announced the next game in the Saints Row series after their parent company’s acquisition of Volition inc. in January this year after THQ’s bankruptcy. Saints Row IV will be the next game in the wacky sandbox action game where you can do anything with a weird factor. Saints Row: The Third was well received for its fun gameplay, over the top nonsense and usage of mindless fun. So how would Volition topped one of most silly video games? By making it even more ridiculous and blown out of proportion and making the player the President of America and having him/her fight off an alien invasion.
Saints Row IV will once again feature the 3rd Street Saints where now the leader of the Saints, aka you, is now the president of the United States. Crazy isn’t it? But it gets even more so when aliens being invading the land of the free and you are the only one that can stop them. The game will allow players to use advance technology weapons, alien super powers such as flying and ince powers, and all while having as much fun as possible.
In the next open-world installment of Saints Row, Volition continues the story of the Third Street Saints by elevating their status to the highest level – the leaders of the free world. In Saints Row IV, the head honcho of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States. But the Saints are just getting started. Now the larger-than-life insanity of the Saints series gets a new twist with a catastrophic alien invasion, and the aliens have transported the Saints to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. Wield gargantuan superpowers and fight to free humanity from alien granddaddy Zinyak’s mental grasp. Escape the simulation that’s trapped the Saints crew, or die trying.
Saints Row IV lets players delve into an arsenal of alien weaponry and technology that will turn each Saint into an ultimate entity of destruction. Utilize out-of-this-world superpowers to fight all the way to the top. With intensified action and enhanced customization, players can use their newfound superpowers and leap over buildings, outrun the fastest sports cars, or send enemies flying with telekinesis in the greatest, most insane installment of Saints Row yet.

Koch Media acquired Volition earlier in the year as well as the rights to produce games in the Saints Row series. The game will be published under Deep Silver, who were responsible for publishing many games including Dead Island and Risen. The original concept for the game was initially suppose to be an expansion titled Enter the Dominatrix but THQ were quite pleased with the production and was redirected into a full sequel, Saints Row IV.
Along with the insane premise, Volition has also released a few screenshots of the game and a teaser trailer.
Saints Row IV is set to release on all current-gen consoles and PC on August 20th in North America and on August 23rd in Europe.
