Silver Spoon To be Adapted By A-1 Pictures

The author/Mangaka of the brilliant manga Fullmetal Alchemist Hiromu Arakawa, will have her current and latest manga adapted for an anime later this year. It has been revealed that the anime adaptation of Arakawa’s Silver Spoon will be produced by A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online, Fairy Tail) and will be airing in July this year.

Along with this a new visual image of the anime has been released which can be seen above. Some of the cast of the anime have been revealed:

  • Director – Tomohiko Ito (Occult Academy, Sword Art Online)
  • Assistant Director – Kotomi Deai (Episode Director of The World God Only KnowsErgo Proxy)
  • Script Writer – Taku Kishimoto (Usagi Drop)
  • Character Designer & Chief Animation Director – Jun Nakai (Mardock Scramble films, The Sacred Blacksmith)
  • Composer – Shusei Murai (Allison & Lillia, Aiura)

Yugo Hachiken dreams of life separated from his family, so he takes the initiative by enrolling in an agriculture school. He thinks, with his talent in studying, no problems will arise no matter what kind of school he attends. He is proven wrong very quickly. Raised as a city boy, he is forced to uncover the inconvenient truth about agricultural life. Enjoy the story of Hachiken, as he tries to keep up with his new friends, farmers’ heirs, who are already accustomed to the harsh world of farming. With no clear goals or understanding of farming life, how will Hachiken survive this new, cruel reality? The story of a sweat, tear, and mud-stained youth begins!

The Silver Spoon anime adaptation will be airing in Summer this year.
