In the recent issue of Media Factory’s Comic Alive magazine the cast and the crew have been revealed for the upcoming anime adaptation of Takumi Hiiragiboshi and Yuu Asaba’s light novel series Absolute Duo, which was earlier announced at Media Factory Bunko Summer School Festival 2014. Additionally, the first visual of the anime was released:
The magazine has revealed the leading cast members for the upcoming anime. The main cast includes:
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito in Sword Art Online) will voice lead character Tooru Kokonoe
- Nozomi Yamamoto (Yukimura Kusunoki in Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai) is voicing the main heroine Yurie Sigtuna
- Ayaka Suwa (Tokaku Azuma from Akuma no Riddle) will voice Tomoe Tachibana
- Ayaka Imamura (First major role) as Miyabi Hotaka
- Haruka Yamazaki (Eita Kidou in Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru) as Lilith Bristol
The production crew of the Absolute Duo anime were also revealed and are as follows:
- Director: Atsushi Nakayama (First full directing role, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS Episode Director)
- Series Composer: Takamitsu Kouno (Minami-ke Tadaima, Abnormal Physiology Seminar)
- Chief Animation Director: Norie Tanaka (M3 the dark metal Chief Animator, Magi – The Labyrinth of Magic Key Animator)
- Anime Character Designer & Animation Director: Keiichi Sano (Strike the Blood, Heaven’s Memo Pad)
- Animation Studio: 8-Bit (Tokyo Ravens, Infinite Stratos)

Absolute Duo is a light novel series written by Takumi Hiiragi-Boshi and features character designs from Yuu Asaba. The series began in 2012 in Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint. To date the series has a total of 6 compiled volumes, with the sixth volumes releasing on the 25th. The series also received a manga adaptation earlier last year in Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine by Shinichirou Nariie.

After losing a loved one, Tooru Kokonoe enrolls at Kouryou Academy so as to gain a <<Blaze>>, a weapon that is his soul manifestation, for the sake of revenge. He was expecting a weapon… What he got was a shield… How is he to seek revenge with something that isn’t even a weapon?!
