The official website and Twitter of the anime adaptation of Hitsugi no Chaika has announced that a second season of the anime is coming our way. Season 2 will be airing this Fall/Autumn in October.

Additionally, the anime’s website also revealed that there will be an advanced screening of the 1st season’s final episode on June 20 at the Kadokawa Cinema Shinjuku in Tokyo.
Hitsugi no Chaika is an original light novel series written by Ichiro Sasaki and illustrated by Namaniku ATK. The series began in 2010 and is published by Fujimi Shobo in their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. To date there are a total of 9 volumes. There has been three manga adaptations based on the novels, two of which are spin-offs. An anime adaptation began airing April 10th this year and is produced by studio Bones. The series will run for a total of 12 episodes.
Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:
Toru Acura is a 20-year-old retired soldier meandering through life post-war. He encounters Chaika Trabant, a 14-year-old sorceress carrying a coffin, and follows her in hopes of finding some semblance of meaning in his life again. The two are accompanied by Toru’s adopted sister Akari, the sole employed member of the group and thereby their source of sustenance.
The second season of Hitsugi no Chaika will be airing in October, during the Fall/Autumn 2014 anime season. More information about the upcoming season is expected to release in the upcoming weeks.
