Japanese developer and publisher Sega has released a bunch of new images for the crossover, arcade fighting game Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax. These new images, as well as a new video, also showcases two new characters who will be joining the battle: Kirito from Sword Art Online and Tomoka Minato from Ro-Kyu-Bu!. They will be joining an 8 character roster, with 14 support characters.
The game currently includes 8 playable characters from 7 different series. All the characters are from light novels that are published by Dengeki Bunko, which is owned by ASCII Media Works. The characters themselves will be designed on their LN designs, rather than their anime counterparts. Here is a list of the confirmed playable characters:

- Tomoka Minato from Ro-Kyu-Bu!
- Asuna from Sword Art Online
- Shana from Shakugan no Shana
- Mikoto Misaka from Toaru Majutsu no Index
- Kirino Kōsaka from Oreimo

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax also includes support characters who can be summoned to deal damage or block attacks. There are currently 14 support characters from 14 light novels, and they aren’t necessarily battle ready characters. Here is the list of support characters currently confirmed:

- Boogiepop from Boogiepop Phantom
- Leafa from Sword Art Online
- Sadao Maou from Hataraku Maou-sama!

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is an upcoming 2D fighting game, a crossover game that includes characters from many of ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko published novels. The game is a project collaboration between Dengeki and Sega to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Dengeki Bunko. The game features characters from over 10 different light novel series, from Sword Art Online to Golden Time. While all the series in the game already have an anime adaptation, the game will feature the light novel designs. The game is a typical 2D fighting game, with light medium and heavy attacks, a support and a special attack. Sega has also revealed that Akira from the Virtua Fighter series will appear as a boss in the game. The game is currently being worked on by the developers of the Valkyria Chronicles series.
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will only be releasing on the arcade, with no other platforms announced. The game will hit Japanese Arcades in March this year.
