New Hidan No Aria Project Revealed

Earlier this year there was an announcement that there will be a new project in production based on Chuugaku Akamatsu and Kobuichi’s light novel series Hidan no Aria (Aria the Scarlet Ammo). It has been revealed that there will be three new projects, with the first being revealed as a light novel adaptation.

New Hidan No Aria Project

The first new Hidan No Aria project will be a light novel adaptation of the spin-off manga Hidan no Aria AA (Aria the Scarlet Ammo Double). The manga itself began in 2010 in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine and is written by Akamatsu and illustrated by Kobuichi. There has been a  total of 7 volumes of the manga released so far.

Hidan no Aria is a light novel series written by Chuugaku Akamatsu with illustrations from Kobuichi. The series began in Media Factory’s MF Bunko J in August 2008. To date there are 16 volumes with the 17th volume releasing on the 28th, and the series has sold over 5 million copies. A manga adaptation began serialization in 2009 by Yoshino Koyoka. A anime adaptation aired from April 2011 till June that year, and was animated by J.C.Staff. An OVA followed the series in December 2011.

There will be a total of 3 new projects in production with the first being a light novel adaptation of the spin-off manga. The last two will be revealed during this Winter.
