The first details about the upcoming Blu-ray boxset of the anime adaptation of Barasui’s Ichigo Mashimaro (Strawberry Marshmallow) manga. The boxset itself has been delayed to a November 26th release, containing all episodes of the anime and numerous goodies.
The release of the Ichigo Mashimaro anime Blu-ray boxset is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the anime, which aired in 2005. Retailing for ¥28,080 (~ US$234.40), the boxset will contain many wonderful thigns for fans:
- All 12 episodes of the anime
- The three OVA episodes and 2 OVA encores
- A limited edition boxset cover (above) drawn by Barasui
- A length 52 page booklet, containing designs, images, sketches and even an interview between Barasui and director Takuya Sato – their first meeting since the anime ended 10 years ago
- The anime’s OST
- An Album of character songs
- A special CD containing audio from the drama CDs
- Non credited Opening and Ending sequences
- Video footage for the anime’s prologue in HD
- Character promotional Videos
Ichigo Mashimaro (Strawberry Marshmallow) is a slice of life, comedy manga written and illustrated by Barasui. The series began in 2002 under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Daioh, where a total of 7 volumes have been produced to date. The series received an anime adaptation in 2005 produced by Daume (Minami-ke, Shiki) and directed by Takuya Sato (Steins;Gate, Selector Infected WIXOSS). Following the anime series, a PS2 visual novel was developed in 2005 and a series of OVAs in the following years were also produced.
