The official website of the Selector Infected WIXOSS anime website has revealed that a new anime film is currently in production under the title of Selector Destructed WIXOSS. The movie will be released in Japanese theatres on February 13th next year.
The first promotional video of the film was also revealed, which recaps the ending scenes from the anime’s second season, Selector Spread WIXOSS.
The first set of advance tickets for the film will go on sale from August 1st.
The first batch will come with a limited edition hologram, foil Arc Destruct WIXOSS promo card. Though, there are only a limited supply for the card.
The second batch of advance tickets will go on sale at Comic Market (Comiket) 88, running from August 14-16. The tickets will also contain a bonus, which will be revealed at a later date.
Selector Infected WIXOSS is an original anime series animated by J.C. Staff (Toradora!, Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo) and directed by Takuya Satou (Steins;Gate, Seitokai no Ichizon). A card game based on the series titled WIXOSS was produced from Takara Tomy in April 2014. A second season of the anime, Selector Spread WIXOSS, was produced for the Fall/Autumn 2014 anime season.

WIXOSS is a card game that’s popular with teenagers. Supposedly there exist “LRIG Cards,” female character cards with wills of their own. Special girls can hear the voices of the LRIGs, and those who possess them are called Selectors. These Selectors have card battles in a dimension that other humans cannot access. It’s said that whoever triumphs in these battles will have their wish granted. Ruko Kominato is the latest girl to find an LRIG card. She names her card Tama, and without any further explanation is thrown into her life as a Selector.
The Selector Destructed WIXOSS anime film will be released in Japanese theatres from February 13, 2016, starting at Tokyo’s Shinjuku Wald 9 theatre. Further information about the film will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.
