Tokyo Ghoul √A Episode 3 Synopsis

The official website of the anime adaptation of Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul manga has revealed the synopsis for the third episode of the anime’s second season, Tokyo Ghoul √A, which will be airing on Thursday the 22nd of January at midnight JST (effectively the 23rd) on Tokyo MX.

Episode 3: The Hanged Man

The CCG escort vehicles have been attacked by Aogiri Tree. In Anteiku, Hinami Fueguchi and Touka both know that Kaneki is involved with the attack and both are hurt deeply by his actions. Meanwhile, at a signing session with Sen Takatsuki for her latest book, Kaneki is also reading the book and visits her without anyone knowing, so he won’t bother Touka. On the other hand, Touka is visiting the Kamii University, her university of choice, where she meets Kaneki’s close friend, Hideyoshi Nagachika.

The upcoming second season will be based on a new original story written by Ishida, rather than adapting the remainder of his original manga. The series will once again be animated by Studio Pierrot (Naruto ShippudenBleach) and the majority of the cast and staff will return to reprise their roles. The second season itself will be airing from January 8 next year on Tokyo MX, before airing on TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TVQ, Dlife and ATX-1 in the subsequent days. Ishida has reported on Twitter that the anime will be 12 episodes long.

Tokyo Ghoul is a manga written and illustrated by Sui Ishida. The series began in 2011 and ended in October for a total of 143 chapters. The manga was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine and a total of 13 compiled volumes have been published. The 14th and final volume of the series will be releasing on October 17th. A prequel online manga titled Tokyo Ghoul: JACK by Ishida started in August this year on Shueisha’s Jump Live. An anime adaptation of the series began earlier this Summer. The anime is produced by Studio Pierrot (Naruto ShippudenBleach) and directed by Shuhei Morita (KakurenboFreedom). The anime ended on the 18th after a total of 12 episodes. A sequel manga series has also started serialization, titled Tokyo Ghoul:re.

Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:
