The official Twitter account of the anime adaptation of Hiroshi Hiroyama’s Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya manga has announced that a new anime sequel project is in production. Accompanying the announcement is the first visual of the new project, featuring Illya, Magical Ruby and Magical Sapphire.

The announcement was made during a stage panel at Machi Asobi vol.19 event for the recently released anime film based on the series, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya Sekka no Chikai (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma ☆ Illya: Oath Under the Snow). The film released in Japan on August 26.
The main cast of the film includes:
- Noriaki Sugiyama (Sasuke Uchiha in Naruto) will voice Shirou Emiya
- Kaori Nazuka (Nunnally Lamperouge from Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch) is voicing Miyu Edelfelt
- Mai Kadowaki (Sanya V. Litvyak from Strike Witches) returns to voice Illyasviel von Einzbern
- Natsuki Hanae (Inaho Kaizuka from Aldnoah.Zero) voicing Julian Ichigi
- Noriko Shitaya (Haruko Amaya in Maken-Ki!) returning as Sakura Matou
- Rikiya Koyama (Kogorou Mouri in Detective Conan) voicing the role of Kiritsugu Emiya

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya is a spin off manga series from Type-Moon’s Fate/stay night franchise by Hiroshi Hiroyama. The manga follows Illyasviel von Einzbern in an alternate universe where she is a magical girl. The manga original released in 2007 in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine and ran for 2 volumes. A sequel series Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei! released in 2009 and another titled Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 3rei! began in 2012, which the latter is still ongoing at 6 volumes to date. The anime adaptation of the first manga series aired in June 2013 and a second series in July 2014, both of which were produced by Silver Link (Kokoro Connect, Non Non Biyori). A third season of the anime, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei Herz!, aired in Summer 2015. A fourth season of the anime adapted the Fate/kaleid Liner Prisma☆Illya Drei!! manga, the third manga and a direct sequel to Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei!, aired in Summer 2016. An original anime film based on the manga was produced and released in Japan in Summer 2017.

Spin-off of Fate/stay night with Illyasviel von Einzbern as the protagonist, living an alternate life as a school girl. While taking a bath, she stumbles upon Kaleido Stick Ruby, who turns her into a magical girl.
A brand new Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya anime project has been announced and will be a sequel to the previous anime seasons and film. Further details about the new project, including its format, will be revealed at a later date.
