The latest issue of Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine is celebrating the premiere of the second season anime adaptation of Shoutarou Tokunou’s New Game! manga. The issue has a new promotional image featuring Hifumi Takimoto as a sorceress, who will appear in the upcoming smartphone game Kirara Fantasia.
Aoba Suzukaze will also appear in the game, dressed up as a bear.
Kirara Fantasia is a smartphone RPG for iOS and Android devices that features many of the magazine’s series in a fantasy setting, including Hidamari Sketch, Kiniro Mosaic and of course New Game! The voice actresses of their respective characters will voice them in the game. It is currently slated for a 2017 release.
The second season of the anime broadcasts every Thursday at 9:30pm JST on ATX. The anime also airs on Tokyo MX on Fridays at 12:30am JST, TV Aichi at 1:35am JST, on MBS at 2:30am JST.
The main cast members of the anime’s first season will return for season 2, alongside some new faces:
- Yuuki Takada (Rin Kurosawa in Aikatsu!) will voice Aoba Suzukaze
- Yoko Hikasa (Mio Akiyama in K-ON!) is going to voice Kou Yagami
- Ai Kayano (Utaha Kasumigaoka from Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata) as Rin Touyama
- Megumi Yamaguchi (First Major Role) is voicing Hifumi Takimoto
- Megumi Toda (Yuzu Iizuka in Sakura Trick) voices Hajime Shinoda
- Ayumi Takeo (Debut Role) will be voicing Yun Iijima
- Madoka Asahina (First Major Role) voicing as Nene Sakura
- Chitose Morinaga (Karen Jinryou from Syomin Sample) as Umiko Ahagon
- Eri Kitamura (Yui from Angel Beats!) will voice Shizuku Hazuki
- Arisa Suzuki (First Major Role) voicing as Momiji Mochizuki
- Hitomi Ohwada (Midori Imai in Shirobako) as Tsubame Narumi
- Manaka Iwami (Aira Miyamoto in Tsuki ga Kirei) who will voice Hotaru Hoshikawa
- Kaori Nazuka (Miyu Edelfelt in Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya) voicing the role of Wako Christina Yamato

New Game! is a 4koma manga written and illustrated by Shoutarou Tokunou. The series began in 2013 in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine, where a total of 3 volumes have been published. The series itself features cute girls working in a video game company, in a similar fashion to Shirobako‘s depiction of working at an anime company. The adaptation was announced in the November issue of Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine. An anime adaptation of the series aired in Summer 2016 for a total of 12 episodes.

Follow Aoba Suzukaze, a fresh highschool graduate that is easily mistaken as a middle school student, as she joins the game company that produced her favorite game as a 3D artist and her cute antics in this story told through 4-koma.
The second season of the New Game! anime is currently airing every Tuesday on ATX at 9:30pm JST, during the Summer 2017 anime season.
