Production I.G’s anime for the next season Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet (Suisei no Gargantia) just had a promotional video released online. This is the first time we see the anime in action with the characters that were revealed last week. The anime is set in the distant future and follows a young lieutenant called Redo, who gets swallowed into space and time with his mech. He winds up on Earth, where the entire planet has been engulfed by the sea and people are forced to live in giant ships. There he must live and grow accustomed to the peaceful and alien world.
The director of the anime will be Kazuya Murata (Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos) with scripts written by Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero). Manga artist Hanaharu Naruko (Sh?jo Material, Kamichu!) is creating his first original anime character designs. Makoto Ishiwata (Blassreiter, Robotics;Notes) is in charge of the mechanical designs, and Taro Iwashiro (Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos, The Prince of Tennis) is scoring the music.
