Kyoto Animation has just released a trailer detailing the next anime to be aired in January 2013. The anime is called Tamako Market. Naoko Yamada (K-ON!) is directing, and Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Bakuman.) is in charge of the series scripts. Another K-ON! veteran, Yukiko Horiguchi (Lucky Star), is designing the characters.
Unlike K-ON! and Lucky Star, the new anime will have an original story not based on pre-existing material. The commercial and website’s tagline reads, “Rice cakes, freshly pounded.” The new anime will run on the Tokyo MX TV, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, and BS11 Digital channels.
