GJ-bu Season 2 Green Lit

The official site of the anime adaptation of GJ-bu (GJ Club) has revealed that season 2 of the cutesy moe anime has been green lit. The site was updated with the image above announcing the second season reveal. No further information regarding the date or cast of the second season has been released.

The first season of GJ-bu aired in January this year and had a  total run of 12 episodes. The series was an adaptation of Shin Araki’s light novel series of the same name. The light novel series was first published by Gagaga Bunko in March 2010 with the ninth and final volume published last March. A spin-off series called GJ-bu Chuutou-bu was released in April 2012. Both light novel series were illustrated by Aruya.

The GJ-bu anime series was produced by Dogakobo, who are known for the production of Yuru Yuri and its sequel Yuru Yuri??. The series was directed by Yoshiyuki Fujiwara, who worked on many popular anime such as Sword Art Online and Attack on Titan. Some of cast included Hiro Shimono, Keima Katsuragi from The World God Only Knows, and Maaya Uchida, who voices Rikka Takanashi from Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!

Shinomiya Kyouya is forced to become a new member of the GJ, an unidentified club that dwells in a room of the former building of a certain school. Here he meets the club leader, Mao, a short girl with a big attitude; Mao’s younger sister, Megumi, who has the heart of a bipolar angel; the recognized genius with a lack of common sense, Shion; and the always-hungry and mysterious Kirara. Time flies with these unique girls around.
