Japanese publisher Atlus has just unveiled their latest arcade game, which will be based on the ever so popular K-ON! series. Titled K-ON! After School Rhythm Time, the new arcade game will be a rhythm game that requires the use of trading cards in order to play. Specifically, players must pay 100 yen (~ US$1.00) to start the arcade machine.

Once the payment is transacted the machine will print out one of 46 possible K-ON! cards, 5 of which can be seen below.
The player can then use the cards on the machine, which digitally reads the card and shows the associated song tied to the card. The Player can then play the song like most rhythm games, pressing the buttons in time with the music. There has been no specified songs but assume that all of songs featured in the anime to be included. Players can also insert up to three cards to unlock a special combination as well as earn extra points. The arcade game also features voiced lines from the anime’s cast, so it could be worth it alone on that.
The new arcade game is set to release in Japan this spring. You can also check out the official website of K-ON! After School Rhythm Time.
