The official website of the anime adaptation of Ichiro Sasaki and Namaniku ATK’s manga Hitsugi no Chaika has revealed the anime’s second season will be titled Hitsugi no Chaika: Avenging Battle. In addition, the the cast and crew that will be working on the series and the first promotional video were also revealed.

The anime’s website has revealed that the cast of the first season will return to reprise their roles:
- Junji Majima (Ryuuji Takasu from Toradora!) will return to voice Tohru Acura
- Chika Anzai (Suzu Shutou in Akuma no Riddle) as Chaika Travant
- Yuko Hara (Hitomi in Happiness Charge Precure!) voicing Akari Acura
- Chiwa Saito (Homura Akemi in Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica) voices Frederica
The staff that will be producing the anime were also revealed:
- Director: Soichi Masui (Hitsugi no Chaika, Scrapped Princess)
- Series Composer: Touko Machida (Lucky☆Star, The iDOLM@STER)
- Character Designer and Cheif Animation Director: Nobuhiro Arai (Hitsugi no Chaika, Shakugan no Shana)
- Music Composer: Seikou Nagaoka (Hitsugi no Chaika, Strike Witches)
- Animation Studio: Bones (Hitsugi no Chaika, Captain Earth)
Hitsugi no Chaika is an original light novel series written by Ichiro Sasaki and illustrated by Namaniku ATK. The series began in 2010 and is published by Fujimi Shobo in their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. To date there are a total of 9 volumes. There has been three manga adaptations based on the novels, two of which are spin-offs. An anime adaptation began airing April 10th this year and is produced by studio Bones. The series ran for a total of 12 episodes.
Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:
Toru Acura is a 20-year-old retired soldier meandering through life post-war. He encounters Chaika Trabant, a 14-year-old sorceress carrying a coffin, and follows her in hopes of finding some semblance of meaning in his life again. The two are accompanied by Toru’s adopted sister Akari, the sole employed member of the group and thereby their source of sustenance.
Hitsugi no Chaika: Avenging Battle will be airing from this October during the Fall/Autumn 2014 anime season. Further information on the series will release at a later date.
