The current July issue of Jump Square magazine has announced that Yasuhiro Nightow’s manga series Kekkai Sensen will be receiving an anime adaptation. Additional information on the anime adaptation has not been revealed and will release in forthcoming issues of Jump Square and Jump SQ.19. magazines.
Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront) is a manga from Yasuhiro Nightow that began in 2008 as a one shot series. Nightow is most known for this other manga Trigun, which ended that year with Trigun Maximum, which also had a . Kekkai Sensen was published in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine, with a 3 part special releasing in 2009. Since then the manga became a regular series in 2010 instead being published in Shueisha’s Jump SQ.19 magazine. To date the series has 8 volumes with the 9th volume releasing on June 4.
Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:
Kekkai Sensen, Blood World War’s main characters are Klaus Rineberts, Frau Jane and Gilbert, the strange mummy-butler. Jane is an invisible werewolf, while Klaus is a redeemed vampire “Fang Hunter” (Kibagari) who uses holy relics. They war against vampires and occasionally help bystanders who get caught up in things.
Additional information about the anime adaptation of Kekkai Sensen has not been released. More news will be out in future issues of Jump SQ.19. and Jump Square magazines.
