Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Blu-ray Box Set Announced

The official website for the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha anime has revealed that the original TV series will be getting a Blu-ray box set. The were will be three blu-ray box sets for each season of the series and they will all contain the full season as long with many extras.


The three blu-ray box sets will be for Magical Girl Lyrical NanohaMagical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Strikers. Each of the box sets includes all the episodes with no credits, the opening and ending videos with and without the credits, interviews with the cast, and various videos for events. Additionally, the final box set will include the full transformation sequences.

  • The Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha blu-ray box set will be out on October 1st this year and will cost ¥28,000 (~ $280 USD).
  • The Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s blu-ray box set will be coming out on November 5th and will also cost ¥28,000 (~ $280 USD).
  • The final box set of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Strikers will be out on December 3rd this year and will cost ¥38,000 (~ $380 USD)

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is an original anime series that aired in late 2004. The series is a spin-off of the anime Triangle Heart that is produced by studio Seven Arcs and directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, who now works with studio Shaft and has directed Puella Magi Madoka Magica and the Bakemonogatari series. Since 2004, the series  has bloomed into its own franchise, with two sequel series and two animated films recapping the series. A third film titled Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 3rd Reflection will be an original  story and has yet to release. The series has also received many manga and light novel adaptations as a few video games. The franchise has received a grand reception in both Japan and in the west.

The blu-ray box sets for the three Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha anime series will be out late this year. So far it will only be sold in Japan with no plans of releasing a localised version, currently.
