Nintendo has begun its marketing campaign for the release for the New Nintendo 3DS in Japan on October 11th with this new commercial featuring Japanese pop singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. This new commercial showcases the 3DS’ ability to change the back plates (Kisekae Plates) of the handheld with various stylish designs, much like Pamyu’s colourful wardrobe. She is joined by various mascots synonymous with Nintendo, who are also seem switching costumes alongside the super star.
On the handheld’s launch, a total of 38 Kisekae Plates designs will be available from Nintendo. These range from full plate designs of Mario, Luigi and Peach, to various colours and patterns. The New Nintendo 3DS will be out in Japan on October 11th.
