Reki Kawahara, the creator and writer of the light novels Sword Art Online and Accel World, recently announced that he would be starting a new light novel series. The May issue of Dengeki Bunko it announced that Kawahara’s upcoming light novel series, Zettai Naru Kodoku (Absolute Solitude), will begin publishing in the June issue of the magazine. The magazine will be out on June 10th in Japan. A new visual image for the novel were also present in the magazine.
The light novel was first announced when Kawahara first serialised Sword Art Online on his homepage, but once the series was professionally published the series was never updated or mentioned again. The series resurfaced again in the 16th volume of Accel World, where Kawahara revealed that he will be publishing Zettai Naru Kodoku (Absolute Solitude).
Reki Kawahara is an author who is most known for the light novels Accel World and Sword Art Online. Accel World started publication in February 2009 and has 16 volumes published to date, and is illustrated by HiMA. Sword Art Online began in April 2009 and has a total of 14 volumes, and is illustrated by abec. Both light novels are published monthly in Dengeki Bunko. There are also many manga adaptations of both series, all of which are written by Kawahara himself and illustrated by various artists. Both series also received an anime adaptation, with Sunrise producing the Accel World anime and A-1 Pictures producing Sword Art Online.
The latest and 14th volume of Sword Art Online launched earlier this week.
Zettai Naru Kodoku (Absolute Solitude) will be out on June 10th in the June issue of Dengeki Bunko.
