It has been announced at AnimeJapan 2014 that the light novel series Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!? (Invaders of the Rokujyouma!?), by Takehaya, will be getting an anime adaptation. The announcement was made on the event’s website, where it will be officially unveiled to the public on March 23rd. The series has been slated to air in Summer this year.
A new visual for the anime was also released on the anime’s official site.
Additionally, the cast of the anime series has also been announced: Yuuichi Nakamura (Tomoya Okazaki in Clannad), Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Makoto Tachibana from Free), Aoi Yuki (Madoka Kaname from Puella Magi Madoka Magica), Ayana Taketatsu (Azusa Nakano from K-ON!), and will be the first major roles for Eri Suzuki, Harumasa Omori, Masumi Tazawa, and Maria Naganawa. Whilst the cast members have been revealed, their respective characters have not been revealed yet.
The series itself revolves around Koutarou Satomi, Sanae Higashihongan, Yurika Nijino, Kiriha Kurano, Gre Fortorthe and Ruthkhania Nye Pardomshiha. Here are their respective character bios:
The light novel series was first published in 2009 by Takehaya, with Poco illustrating the novels. The novels are published by Hobby Japan, where a manga adaptation by Tomosane Ariike made its way onto the publisher’s manga website late last year. There was also an animated PV for the series by Silver Link in 2010. There has been no confirmation on their involvement in this anime project. The ending theme for the series has been confirmed to be performed by petit milady, a duo composed of Ayana Taketatsu and Aoi Yuki.
Here is a synopsis of the series:
Due to young Koutarou’s financial circumstances, he is forced to live in a small rokujouma (6-tatami apartment) on a budget of 5000 yen a month. On the plus side, he lives rent-free, but on the minus side, that’s because room 106 of Corona Apartments is cursed. The ghost is a cute young girl, and hijinks ensue when she tries to drive him out. Between the haunting, Koutarou’s nosy neighbors, and a self-styled magical girl flying to the unneeded rescue, there’s way too much for the impoverished young man to handle.
The Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!? anime is set to air in Summer 2014. More information about the series will be revealed at its AnimeJapan 2014 event on March 23rd.
