Kyoukai no Rinne Anime Airs April 4th for 25 Episodes + Cast & Promotional Video Revealed

The official website of the upcoming anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s Kyoukai no Rinne (Rin-ne) manga has revealed that the series will be airing in Japan from April 4th for a total of 25 episodes. In addition, the main cast of the anime and its first promotional video were also revealed.

The main cast of the upcoming series is different from the 2009 anime commercial. The main cast of the TV anime series that was revealed consists of:

  • Kaito Ishikawa (Tsumugu Kihara from Nagi no Asukara) will be voicing the main character Rinne Rokudou
  • Marina Inoue (Armin Arlert from Attack on Titan) is voicing as Sakura Mamiya
  • Hitomi Nabatame (Kazusa Touma in White Album 2) voices Rokumon
  • Satsuki Yukino (Shion and Mion Sonozaki from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni) as Tamako
  • Kappei Yamaguchi (L Lawliet from Death Note) is voicing the role of Sabato Rokudou

The anime’s staff was earlier revealed and includes:

  • Director: Seiki Sugawara (D-Frag!, Kure-nai)
  • Series Composer: Michiko Yokote (Genshiken, Shinryaku! Ika Musume)
  • Music Composer: Akimitsu Honma (Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo ED 2 Music Arranger, Shangri-La OP Composer)
  • Animation Studio: Brain’s Base (Baccano!, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun)

Kyoukai no Rinne (Rin-ne) is a supernatrual comedy manga written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi, who is well known for creating the InuYasha manga series. The Kyoukai no Rinne manga began publication in 2009 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. To date a total of 23 volumes have been compiled and have sold over 3 million copies in print.

Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:

As a child Sakura Mamiya mysteriously disappeared in the woods behind her grandma’s home. She returned whole and healthy, but since then she has had the power to see ghosts. Now a teenager, she just wishes the ghosts would leave her alone! At school, the desk next to Sakura’s has been empty since the start of the school year, then one day her always-absent classmate shows up, and he’s far more than what he seems!

The Kyoukai no Rinne anime will be airing from April 4th during the Spring 2015 anime season. It will air for a total of 25 episodes and continues into the next season. More information about the series will be revealed at Anime Japan this March.
