There is less than a week until the premiere of the Love Live! The School Idol Movie and the advertising is already in full swing. Japanese domain registrar and online hosting website Onamae is collaborating with the idols from the series in a brand new promotion. Though, the promotional images of the members of μ’s is a bit revealing.
To celebrate over 10 million domains sold in Japan, website host Onamae have teamed up with the idols from Love Live! in a new collaboration for new buyers. The new ad campaign with Onamae has a total of 9 domains on sale, which correspond to each of the member of μ’s. All the domains costs ¥920 (~ $7.40 USD) per month when you purchase. For early buyers, a limited amount of special gifts will be awarded in a raffle when you purchase a domain. The promotion will end on August 7th at 7:00pm JST.
There are a total of 4 presents that you can redeem:
- A free wallpaper (above)
- A special clear file of one of the characters for each domain purchase
- A B2 tapestry when you sign up for one domain with a server rent on a 12 month plan
- A special bluetooth keyboard when you rent a server on a 12 month plan
Though you have to notice that the idols themselves are in a somewhat revealing pose for the promotion. All the idols have one of the available domain names from the campaign on one of their cheeks. Here they are:
- Eri Ayase
- Nico Yazawa
- Nozomi Toujou
- Umi Sonoda
- Honoka Kousaka
- Kotori Minami
- Rin Hoshizora
- Hanayo Koizumi
- Maki Nishikino
And here is a quick attempt to clean up all the domains from the faces:

Here is the latest trailer for Love Live! The School Idol Movie:
Love Live! School Idol Project is an original anime produced by Sunrise studios that aired in January 2013. The conception of the anime project started in 2010 by Dengeki G’s Magazine. The editors wanted the project to be heavily influenced by fans, such as the costumes, hairstyles and names. Throughout this process, a manga of the project simply called Love Live! began in early 2012 by Sakurako Kimino and Arumi Tokita. The next part in the project was the anime series, followed by this app and an OVA. The second season of Love Live! School Idol Project aired last year.
Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:
Otonokizaka High School stands on the border of three cities: Akihabara—a pop culture mecca that’s evolving by the minute; Kanda—a conservative, cultured city where history and tradition reign supreme; and Jinbo—a quiet area reserved for a more mature, sophisticated population. Amidst this culture clash, the school now faces closure due to the enrollment of fewer and fewer students.
With the school planning to close within three years, nine female students come together with one thing in mind—form a pop idol group to revive the school’s popularity and keep it from shutting down. “In order to protect our beloved school, there’s only one thing we can do… become pop stars!”
The promotion of Onamae and Love Live! The School Idol Movie will end on August 7th. Love Live! The School Idol Movie will be releasing in Japanese theatres from June 13 this year, during the Summer 2015 anime season. The film will then be released internationally from August.
