One Punch-Man Anime Reported to Air This October + Twitter Icons Revealed

According to the official website of the Natsu-Comi 2015 campaign, publisher Shueisha has mentioned that the recently announced anime adaptation of ONE and Yuusuke Murata’s One Punch-Man manga will be airing this October during the Fall/Autumn 2015 anime season. Additionally, the anime’s website has revealed Twitter icons for fans to use as their profile image.

The Natsu-Comi 2015 campaign lists all the volumes for Shueisha’s published manga volumes on sale as well as a comment off to the right of table. The comment for the One Punch-Man manga volumes mentions that the series is being adapted into an anime that will air this October.

Do note that the site has now since changed the comment that now mentions that an anime adaptation of the manga has been announced, as seen below.

The official website of the One Punch-Man anime has released three Twitter icons for fans of the series to use as their Twitter profile. The icons were released to celebrate the anime’s official Twitter reaching over 100,000 followers on the social media network.

Here is the first visual for the anime:

The anime itself was announced in this week’s issue of Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine. Murata stated that the news brought him extremely happy and wanted to post on Twitter, but was unable to and withheld any additional comments. ONE mentioned that he was attending meetings about the anime’s production.

A promotional video has been released last month promoting the manga:

One Punch-Man is an action, comedy, parody manga written by ONE and illustrated by Yuusuke Murata. The series began in 2009 as a free online web comic written by ONE, before being picked up by Shueisha and being featured in their Young Jump magazine publication in mid 2012, with Murata illustrating. To date, a total of 7 compiled volumes have been released with the 8th volume releasing on April 3rd. The series has become a phenomenon in Japan, selling over 4.5 million copies as of November last year, doubling its sales in one year.

Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:

In this new action-comedy, everything about a young man named Saitama screams “AVERAGE,” from his lifeless expression, to his bald head, to his unimpressive physique. The problem is, every time he finds a promising candidate he beats the snot out of them in one punch. Can Saitama finally find an evil villain strong enough to challenge him? Follow Saitama through his hilarious romps as he searches for new bad guys to challenge!

The One Punch-Man anime has been reported to be airing from October during the Fall/Autumn 2015 anime season. Further information will be revealed at the series panel during AnimeJapan on March 21st and the 22nd, where the staff, cast and first PV will be unveiled.
