Akiba’s Trip: The Animation Debuts January 4 – Cast, Visual & Promotional Video Revealed

The official website of the upcoming anime adaptation of Acquire’s Akiba’s Trip games has revealed that the TV series will start airing from January 4th on Tokyo MX. In addition, the first cast members, visuals and promotional video were also revealed.

Another version of the visual was also revealed, which features the series’ signature stripping of clothes.

Akiba’s Trip: The Animation will start air on Tokyo MX from Wednesday, January 4th at 11:30pm JST. The anime will also air on ATX at 10:30pm JST and on BS11 from the 9th at 1:30am JST.

The first members of the anime’s main and supporting cast were revealed alongside their character designs:

  • Haruki Ishiya (Ayumu Kominato in Selector Infected WIXOSS) will star as Tamotsu Denkigai

  • Marika Kouno (Rin Kohana in Sore ga Seiyuu!) voices Niwaka Denkigai

  • Yuki Nagaku (Ichigo Moesaki from Sore ga Seiyuu!) voicing as Arisa Ahokainen

Akiba’s Trip is a series of Japanese Action RPGs developed and published by Acquire. The first game, Akiba’s Trip, released on the PlayStation Portable on May 19th 2011 in Japan, with an updated version titled Akiba’s Trip PLUS releasing in June 2012.The game is set in a recreated setting of Akihabara, with many shops and stores being identical with the real district. The game is an action adventure game where players must strip vampire-like enemies so their skin is revealed to the sunlight. The player can also romance various female characters. Akiba’s Trip 2 released on the PS3 and Vita in Japan in November 2013. An international release of the second game was produced in late 2014 under Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed. It was published by XSEED games in North America and by NIS America in Europe. A third game, titled Akiba’s Trip Festa, is in production for a late 2016 release.

A TV anime adaptation of Akiba’s Trip, titled Akiba’s Trip: The Animation, will start its broadcast on Tokyo MX from January 4th at 11:30pm JST, during the Winter 2016/2017 anime season. Additional information will be revealed at a later date.
