The official website of the upcoming anime adaptation of Petosu’s Demi-chan wa Kataritai (Interviews with Monster Girls) manga has revealed the first new cast member for the January 2017 TV series. Additional members of the cast will be revealed later in the month.
The first cast member revealed was Junichi Suwabe (Archer from Fate/stay/night), who will lead the main cast as biology teacher Tetsuo Takahashi.
The main characters of the anime consists of:
- Hikari Takanashi, a Vampire
- Kyouko Machi, a Dullahan
- Yuki Kusakabe, a Snow Woman
- Sakie Satou, a Succubus
- Himari Takanashi, the human twin of Hikari
The anime will debut from January 2017 on Tokyo MX, MBS and BS11, throughout the Winter 2016/2017 anime season.
The first members of the anime’s production staff were revealed and consists of:
- Director: Ryo Ando (Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri Episode Director)
- Series Composer: Takao Yoshioka (High School DxD, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)
- Anime Character Designer: Tetsuya Kawakami (Gakusen Toshi Asterisk, Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin)
- Music Composer: Masaru Yokoyama (Mobile Suit Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)
- Animation Studio: A-1 Pictures (Boku dake ga Inai Machi, Sword Art Online)
The first promotional video has been released and introduces the main characters of the anime as well as previewing some of the upcoming series’ scenes.
Demi-chan wa Kataritai (Interviews with Monster Girls) is a comedy manga written and illustrated by Petosu. The series began in late 2014 and is published under Kodansha’s Young Magazine the 3rd magazine. To date a total of 4 compiled volumes have been published, the latest on September 4th.
Here is the series synopsis from MAL:
Succubus, Dullahan and Vampire. They are known as Ajin, or “demi”s and are slightly different than the average human. They have lived alongside humans for ages under persecution. However, in recent years, they have become accepted as members of society. This manga follows a high school biology teacher who has a great interest in demis and his interaction with the various demis in his school, each with their own cute problems.
The Demi-chan wa Kataritai TV anime is currently in production and will air this January on Tokyo MX, throughout the Winter 2016/2017 anime season. Further information about the series will be revealed at a later date.
