Magi is a fantasy adventure manga written and illustrated by Shinobu Ohtaka. The series began in 2009 being published under Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. To date a total of 35 volumes have been compiled and published, with the 26th volume set to release on October 18. A spinoff manga, Magi: Sinbad no Bouken (Magi: Adventure of Sinbad),  set before the events of the main series started serialization in 2013 and currently has a total of 15 compiled volumes. The series received a TV anime adaptation in 2012 into a 25 episode series as Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic by A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) and directed by Koji Masunari (R.O.D the TV, Omishi Mahou Gekijou: Risky Safety). A second season followed in 2013 that also ran for a total of 25 episodes. The spinoff was also adapted, first as an OVA series and then into a full TV anime in Spring 2016.

Here is the series synopsis from MAL:

Having spent life in isolation, Aladdin, a kind and young magician, is eager to explore the world upon finally leaving his home behind. He begins his journey only accompanied by his mentor Ugo—a djinn that Aladdin can summon with his flute. However, Aladdin soon becomes friends with the courageous Alibaba Saluja after causing the destruction of a local merchant’s supply cart. In order to pay for the damages, Alibaba suggests that they attempt to conquer the nearest dungeon, taking the first step in an epic adventure that will decide the fate of the world itself.
