The official Twitter account of the of the anime adaptation of Hiromi Takashima’s yuri manga Kase-san, titled Asagao to Kase-San (Kase-san and Morning Glories), has announced that the series will be receiving a new anime adaptation in 2018.

The ONA episode of the anime, Your Light, was released on Youtube in May this year and briefly follows through the events of the manga’s first story. The episode also features the insert song Kimi no Egao by Hanako Oku.
The ONA received a Blu-ray release on July 25th. The release will be a special edition, containing a Blu-ray of the episode, Your Light, in Full HD among these additional bonuses:
- Leica Reel (animated storyboard) version of the episode
- 36 page booklet with character art, background art, images and interviews
- A copy of the manga
- A special drawing book
- Limited edition box drawn by Hiromi Takashima
The special edition of Asagao to Kase-San. anime retails for ¥2,200 (~ US$19.60) without tax. Various stores are offering incentives for pre-ordering the Blu-ray, including online retailer CAnime offering a bonus badge.

Kase-san Series is a romantic yuri manga written and illustrated by Hiromi Takashima. The series began in 2010 being published by Shinshokan’s Hirari Magazine, before moving to the Flash Wings web platform in 2014. To date a total of 4 compiled volumes have been released with the latest volume releasing in July.

Yamada may be shy and rather clumsy, but the flower gardens at her school have always brought her happiness. Suddenly, a different sort of beauty catches her eye—the vivacious track star, Kase-san. Although the two girls don’t seem to have much in common, they soon start a romance where each must learn an important lesson in tending their budding relationship. Can the two girls, so different from each other, learn how to make their first love blossom?
The yuri series Asagao to Kase-san will be getting a brand new anime adpatation in 2018. Further details about the adaptation, including its format, will be revealed at a later date. The ONA’s Blu-ray is currently available for ¥2,376 on Amazon Japan.
