The official website of the DARLING in the FRANKXX anime, Studio Trigger (Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia) and A-1 Pictures’ (Sword Art Online, Fairy Tail) upcoming collaborative Sci-Fi project, has revealed a brand new visual image for the January 2018 TV series. The new visual features the main characters, with Zero Two on top, and the FrankXX Strelizia in the background.
The new visual was drawn by the anime’s Character Designer and Chief Animation Director Masayoshi Tanaka (anohana, High School of the Dead) and the series’ Mecha Designer Shigeto Koyama (Star Driver, Hirune Hime: Shiranai Watashi no Monogatari).

The leading members of the anime’s main cast have been revealed alongside their character designs and character commercials. The cast members of the FRANKXX have yet to be revealed. The main cast consists of:
- Yuuto Uemura (Atsushi Nakajima from Bungou Stray Dogs) voicing as Hiro
- Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna in Sword Art Online) voicing the role of Zero Two
- Their FRANKXX Strelizia
- Kana Ichinose (Debut Role) as Ichigo
- Yuuichirou Umehara (En Yufuin in Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!) voicing Goro
- Their FRANKXX Delphinium
- Nanami Yamashita (Nanami Hisami from Wake Up, Girls!) voicing the role of Miku
- Mutsumi Tamura (Sonya from Kill Me Baby) as Zorome
- Their FRANKXX Argentea
- Saori Hayami (Yukino Yukinoshita from Oregairu) will voice the role of Kokoro
- Hiroki Gotou (Frog-Man in One Punch-Man) who will play Futoshi
- Their FRANKXX Genista
- Shizuka Ishigami (Ellis Fahrengart in Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance) voicing as Ikuno
- Aoi Ichikawa (Debut Role) as Mutsuru
- Their FRANKXX Chlorophytum
The anime’s first promotional video has been released, which introduces the main characters and their voices, as well as the main setting and tone of the series:
The DARLING in the FRANKXX anime will air in January 2018, which will place the anime in the Winter 2017/2018 anime season. The season begins in January and runs through until March 2018.
Studio Trigger and A-1 Pictures are collaborating with each other to produce a brand new original Sci-Fi TV anime titled DARLING in the FRANKXX. The new series will be an original science-fiction television anime. A-1 Pictures producer Hiroyuki Shimizu (anohana, Working!!) was announced to be working on the project, though at what capacity was not revealed.

Studio Trigger are teaming up with A-1 Pictures to produce a new original Sci-Fi TV anime titled DARLING in the FRANKXX that is set to air in January 2018, during the Winter 2017/2018 anime season. Further details about the project will be revealed in the upcoming months.
