The official Twitter account of the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (Hangyaku no Lelouch) franchise has teased an announcement for a new project that will be announced on December 5th.

The new project will be announced via a Youtube stream on December 5th. Details about the project, including its format, will be revealed during the live stream event.
The most recent project in the franchise is 2019’s Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection) anime film, which takes place after the events of the compilation films.
Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) is an anime series created by animation studio Sunrise (Gundam, Love Live! School Idol Project) and manga creators CLAMP (xxxHolic, Cardcaptor Sakura). The series was directed by Gorou Taniguchi (Planetes, Junketsu no Maria) and began in October, 2006, running for a total of 25 episodes. The anime was followed by a second season in 2008. Both seasons of the anime received critical acclaim and widespread popularity. Following the anime’s broadcast, a series of OVAs, manga and Light novels were produced. In 2012 an anime film movie series titled (Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito) Code Geass: Akito the Exiled was produced, set between the two seasons of the anime. The films were directed by Kazuki Akane (Tetsuwan Birdy Decode: The Cipher, Tenku no Escaflowne). In 2017 and 2018 3 compilation films were released, recapping the events of the 2 original anime series, leading up to the 2019 release of Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection). The 2019 film takes place after the events of the compilation movies with a brand new story.

In the year 2010, the Holy Empire of Britannia is establishing itself as a dominant military nation, starting with the conquest of Japan. Renamed to Area 11 after its swift defeat, Japan has seen significant resistance against these tyrants in an attempt to regain independence.
Lelouch Lamperouge, exiled prince of Britannia, unfortunately finds himself caught in a crossfire between the two nations’ armed forces. He is able to escape, however, thanks to the timely appearance of a mysterious girl named C.C., who bestows upon him Geass, the “Power of Kings.” Realizing the vast potential of his newfound “power of absolute obedience,” Lelouch embarks upon a perilous journey as the masked vigilante known as Zero, leading a merciless onslaught against Britannia in order to get revenge once and for all.
