The official website of the TV anime adaptation of Wakame Konbu’s Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) has revealed the first details on the home media release of the series. The releases confirm that the series will run for a total of 20 episodes.
There will be a total of 5 Blu-ray volumes for the Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! anime. Each volume will retail for ¥12,000 (without tax) and will include: 4 episodes, a special case, a booklet that contains a 4-panel strip illustrated byWakame Konbu, and an episode of a spin-off mini-series.
The release dates for the volumes are as follows:
- Volume 1, episodes 1-4: December 22
- Volume 2, episodes 5-8: January 26, 2022
- Volume 3, episodes 9-12: February 23, 2022
- Volume 4, episodes 13-16: March 23, 2022
- Volume 5, episodes 17-20: April 27, 2022
The anime was previously announced to run over two seasons/cours.
The anime’s main cast includes:
- Naomi Oozora (Satanichia Kurumizawa McDowell from Gabriel DropOut) leads the cast to voice Jahy
- Ai Kayano (Menma from AnoHana) as Store Manager
- Yoko Hikasa (Mio Akiyama in K-ON!) voices the role of Landlady Oya
- Kana Hanazawa (Kanade Tachibana from Angel Beats!) as Druj
The other cast members include:
- Mikako Komatsu (Neko in K) as Salwa
- Sumire Uesaka (Sanae Dekomori in Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!) voices Kyouko Jinguu
- Yui Ogura (Tsukiko Tsutsukakushi from Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko.) as Kokoro

Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) is a comedic slice of life manga written and illustrated by Wakame Konbu. The series began in early 2020 and is published under Square Enix’s Gangan Joker magazine. To date, a total of 7 compiled volumes have been published.
Here is the series’s synopsis from MAL:
Once respected as the Demon Realm’s second greatest authority, the Demon King’s aide, Jahy, ruled her subjects with fear. But when a magical girl attacks and destroys a mystic gem containing massive power, the Demon Realm is destroyed.
Although she survives, Jahy has lost almost all of her powers and finds herself stranded in the human world with a childlike appearance. In order to gather more mystic gems so that she can permanently restore both her original form and the Demon Realm, Jahy will have to adjust to her new life and deal with everyday problems that she has never experienced before. From working to pay for living expenses to arguing with her landlord whenever her rent is late, the great Jahy will not be discouraged!
The Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! anime is currently airing every Sunday at 2:00am JST on ABC TV, for a total of 20 episodes.
