Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba: Give Blessings to This Wonderful World!) is a fantasy adventure light novel series written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. The series was originally published online on Shousetsuka ni Narou from 2012 till 2013. The series was then picked up by Kadokawa Shoten under their Sneaker Bunko imprint in late 2013, where a total of 17 volumes have been produced to date. Over 7 million copies in print are in circulation. A spin-off light novel series titled Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen o! is also being produced alongside the parent novel, with 3 volumes to date. A manga adaptation is currently being serialized in Fujimi Shobo’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine. The series received an anime adaptation during the Winter 2015/2016 anime season and a second season in the Winter 2016/2017 anime season. Both seasons were directed by Takaomi Kanasaki (Tokyo Ravens, Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?) and produced by Studio Deen (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Rurouni Kenshin). The anime was followed up by a feature-length film in 2019 titled Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!: Kurenai Densetsu (Give Blessings to This Wonderful World!: Legend of Crimson).

Here is the series synopsis from MAL:

After dying a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game, high school student and recluse Kazuma Satou finds himself sitting before a beautiful but obnoxious goddess named Aqua. She provides the NEET with two options: continue on to heaven or reincarnate in every gamer’s dream—a real fantasy world! Choosing to start a new life, Kazuma is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. But before he goes, he can choose one item of any kind to aid him in his quest, and the future hero selects Aqua. But Kazuma has made a grave mistake—Aqua is completely useless!

Unfortunately, their troubles don’t end here; it turns out that living in such a world is far different from how it plays out in a game. Instead of going on a thrilling adventure, the duo must first work to pay for their living expenses. Indeed, their misfortunes have only just begun!

A brand new Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! anime project has been announced. Details about the format of the project, eg. TV anime, film, or OVA, and its release window will be revealed at a later date.
