A brand new promotional video has released for the anime adaptation of Yusei Matsui’s manga Assassination Classroom (Ansatsu Kyoushitsu). This new video gives us the first ever footage of the anime and also shows us a brief look into the setting of the series and the mysterious Koro-sensei. The series itself will be directed by Seiji Kishi (Persona 4 The Animation, Angel Beats!) and produced by Studio Lerche (Fate/Prototype, Unbreakable Machine-Doll). The anime’s cast were earlier revealed.
Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:
A humorous and action-packed story about a class of misfits who are trying to kill their new teacher – an alien octopus with bizarre powers and super strength! The teacher has just destroyed the moon and is threatening to destroy the earth – unless his students can destroy him first. What makes things more complicated is that he’s the best teacher they’ve ever had!
The Assassination Classroom anime will be airing on January 9th 2015 at 25:20 (effectively the 10th at 1:20am) during the Winter 2014/2015 anime season. Episode 0 of the anime, titled Deai no Jikan, was just screened at the Jump Special Anime Festa 2014 event.
