Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Awakening Path – Trailers

The first compilation film of the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (Hangyaku no Lelouch) anime, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Awakening Path (Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch – Koudou), has been in cinemas for the past two weeks. Bandai has released a series of new trailers to further promote the film’s theatrical release. The new videos highlight the return of the main characters and cast of the iconic anime.

Three compilation films of the Code Geass anime are in production, with the first film currently out in theatres across Japan. The second film, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Rebellion Path (Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch – Handou) is set to release in cinemas across Japan on February 10, 2018.

The first compilation film will be recapping the events from the first season of the Code Geass TV anime that aired in 2006. The film is set to release in theatres across Japan on October 21st.

There will be a total of 3 films recapping the events of the first two anime seasons, 2006’s Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and 2008’s Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. The films will release with newly recorded audio and additional scenes.

The second film will be titled Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Rebellion Path (Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch – Handou) and is set to release in cinemas across Japan in February 2018.

The third and final compilation film, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – The Imperial Path (Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch – Oudou) will release in Japan in May 2018.

Ticket pre-orders are available for purchase and will come with an A4 size clear file of the newly revealed visual.

No further details were revealed on the anime’s third animeCode Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection. During its announcement, it was revealed that the sequel will be set years after Zero Requiem (the final events of the anime’s second season).

Additionally, the anime is also scheduled to be rebroadcast on BS11 every Sunday starting from October 1st. Two episodes will be aired every week.

The franchise is also getting two spin-off novels, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – Lancelot & Guren (Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch Gaiden – Shiro no Kishi, Kurenai no Yasha) that will follow series characters Suzaku and Kallen throughout the events of the anime. The second novel, Code Geass Story Fragment – Piece of the Mosai (Code Geass Danshou – Mosaic no Kakera), will revolve around six different characters that were affected by the events in the anime.

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) is an anime series created by animation studio Sunrise (Gundam, Love Live! School Idol Project) and manga creators CLAMP (xxxHolic, Cardcaptor Sakura). The series was directed by Gorou Taniguchi (Planetes, Junketsu no Maria) and began in October, 2006, running for a total of 25 episodes. The anime was followed by a second season in 2008. Both seasons of the anime received critical acclaim and widespread popularity. Following the anime’s broadcast, a series of OVAs, manga and Light novels were produced. In 2012 an anime film movie series titled (Code Geass: Boukoku no AkitoCode Geass: Akito the Exiled was produced, set between the two seasons of the anime. The films were directed by Kazuki Akane (Tetsuwan Birdy Decode: The Cipher, Tenku no Escaflowne).
