The official website of the anime adaptation of Yusei Matsui’s manga Assassination Classroom has revealed that the series will be airing during the Winter 2014/2015 anime season. Additionally, new visuals have released for the anime as well as a new commercial.
There was an OVA made for the manga by Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Soul Eater) last year, though it was confirmed that the cast from the OVA will not return for the upcoming anime. In addition to the anime, a live action film is in production and will be releasing in 2015. Additionally, the staff of the anime were revealed earlier and are as follows:
- Director: Seiji Kishi (Persona 4 The Animation, Angel Beats!)
- Character Designer: Kazuaki Morita (Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova, Persona 4 The Animation)
- Script Writer: Makoto Uezu (Carnival Phantasm)
- Animation Studio: Lerche (Fate/Prototype, Unbreakable Machine-Doll)
A total of two key visuals were released for Assassination Classroom, one of which features the alien teacher Korosensei and the other featuring the teacher and its students Nagisa, Karma and Kaede:

Assassination Classroom is a manga series from Yusei Matsui. The series began in 2012 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and was the 7th top-selling manga of 2013. To date, a total of 10 compiled volumes have been released and over 10 million copies have been sold. An OVA of the manga released late last year.

A humorous and action-packed story about a class of misfits who are trying to kill their new teacher – an alien octopus with bizarre powers and super strength! The teacher has just destroyed the moon and is threatening to destroy the earth – unless his students can destroy him first. What makes things more complicated is that he’s the best teacher they’ve ever had!
The Assassination Classroom anime will be airing in January 2015 during the Winter 2014/2015 anime season. Additional information on the series and its cast will be revealed at a later date.
