Australian and New Zealand anime licensor and distributor Madman Entertainment has revealed a new trailer for the 2 upcoming live-action Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) movies, based on Hajime Isayama’s manga of the same name. The trailer shows us the first ever footage of the upcoming film and a first tease at how the titans will look in the movies, all with English subtitles. The films will be directed by Shinji Higuchi (Nadia – The Secret of Blue Water) and produced by TOHO (Ao Haru Ride Live Action Film, Pokémon Films). Isayama will be overseeing the story of the upcoming film. Higuchi has confirmed that the two films will be set in the same world and feature the same characters, though the film will also incorporate new characters and enemies.
The first live-action Attack on Titan movie will be releasing in Japanese theatres on August 1st and the second movie releases on September 19th this year.
The cast of the film were earlier announced and the first set of images were released a few weeks earlier. The leading cast members include:
- Haruma Miura (Yama in the live action Captain Harlock) playing the role of Eren Jaeger
- Kiko Mizuhara (Saki Tateshina in Platinum Data) plays Mikasa Ackerman
- Kanata Hongo (Joichiro Nishi in Gantz) as Armin Arlert
