The 2005 anime adaptation of Barasui’s Ichigo Mashimaro (Strawberry Marshmallow) manga will be released in Japan on Blu-ray this October. The release will contain all episodes among other goodies.
The Ichigo Mashimaro Blu-ray boxset will be out in Japan on October 23rd, selling for ¥28,080 (~ US$234.40). The boxset will contain all 12 episodes of the TV anime and the additional OVAs that were released after, all remastered in full HD quality. Additionally, the boxset will also contain the OST of the anime, a special booklet, an album of the character songs and a Drama CD.
Ichigo Mashimaro (Strawberry Marshmallow) is a slice of life, comedy manga written and illustrated by Barasui. The series began in 2002 under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Daioh, where a total of 7 volumes have been produced to date. The series received an anime adaptation in 2005 produced by Daume (Minami-ke, Shiki) and directed by Takuya Sato (Steins;Gate, Selector Infected WIXOSS). Following the anime series, a PS2 visual novel was developed in 2005 and a series of OVAs in the following years were also produced.
