Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 – Promotional Video [Eng Sub]

The first promotional video has been released for the upcoming third season of the anime adaptation of Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul manga, titled Tokyo Ghoul:Re. The new PV introduces to us the return of the ghouls and new characters part of the CCG that will be hunting them down. The video itself contains English subtitles.

The third season of the Tokyo Ghoul anime is in production for a 2018 broadcast that will be adapting the sequel manga, Tokyo Ghoul:re.

The leading members of season 3 include:

  • Director: Odahiro Watanabe (Soul Buster, Super Lovers 2 Assistant Director)
  • Series Composer and Scriptwriter: Chuuji Mikasano (Tokyo Ghoul)
  • Anime Character Designer: Atsuko Nakajima (Ranma ½, Taiho Shichauzo)
  • Animation Studio: Studio Pierrot (Naruto, Bleach)

It has been confirmed that Natsuki Hanae (Inaho Kaizuka from Aldnoah.Zero) will return to voice Ken Kaneki in season 3.

The Tokyo Ghoul:re manga is set after the events of the original manga. The anime’s second season, Tokyo Ghoul √A, did not follow through the entirety of the original manga. The new season is set to take place after the events of season 2.

Funimation CEO Gen Fukunaga previously revealed that a third season of the anime was in production and scheduled for a 2016 release to coincide with the release of the series’ mobile phone game. It is unknown if the announcement was premature or false.

Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:

The suspense horror/dark fantasy story is set in Tokyo, which is haunted by mysterious “ghouls” who are devouring humans. People are gripped by the fear of these ghouls whose identities are masked in mystery. An ordinary college student named Kaneki encounters Rize, a girl who is an avid reader like him, at the café he frequents. Little does he realize that his fate will change overnight.
