Japanese car manufacture Hino Motors have announced that they have teamed up with Japanese Animation Studio Sunrise (Gundam, Love Live! School Idol Project) to produce an anime short for their showcase at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. The anime special will be titled Ano Hi no Kokoro o Toraete (Seize Your Heart From That Day).
The anime is to promote Hino’s new FlatFormer technology, which will be shown at the Tokyo Motor show on October 23rd. The special will also be uploaded to YouTube on the same day.
The anime’s staff include:
- Director: Takahiko Kyogoku (Love Live! School idol project, Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri)
- Anime Character Designer: Atsuya Uki (Digimon Adventure tri., tsuritama)
- Animation Director: Marie Tagashira (City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes, Gundam G no Reconguista)
- Animation Studio: Sunrise (Gundam, Love Live! School Idol Project)
The story is set in a town that preserves nature and its natural attractions using technology. It centers on a protagonist who has drifted apart from his childhood friend, and uses the FlatFormer (seen right) to reconnect through time and space.
The anime special Ano Hi no Kokoro o Toraete from Sunrise will premiere at the 2019 Tokyo Motor show, which starts on October 23. The special is produced in collaboration with Hino Motors.
