Bandai Namco Games Japan have released a new video for the upcoming arcade release of Pokken Tournament, their new fighting game based on Pokémon. This 4 minute video demonstrates the gameplay of Pokken Tournament and gives a hefty overview on the mechanics, fighting systems and abilities you can utilise in the game. So far only 5 Pokémon have been revealed: Lucario, Machamp, Suicune, Gardevoir and Pikachu. The game itself won’t be similar to Bandai Namco’s Tekken, which is surprising since Katsuhiro Harada, one of the producers of Tekken, is producing Pokken Tournament. From the gameplay shown, the game is in a full 3D arena akin to the Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Storm series, also published by Bandai Namco, and also uses the support character system.
Pokken Tournament started its test run in select Japanese arcades on January 30th and will make an appearance at Japan Amusement Expo. Further details about the arcade game read our article here.
